Podcast: Battlefield Earth: A Saga of the Year 3000 (2000)

John Travolta stars in this epic sci-fi flop inspired by the psychology-hating 1,000 page novel of the same name. Chris and Nick discuss the awful cinematography, hammy acting, Razzie's mediocrity, and why John Travolta is the worst. Also dare I mention the Church of Scientology, L. Ron Hubbard, and the site traffic that may result? It looks like I answered my own question. Thetans.

Apologies for the lackluster sound quality. We decided to apply the audio version of the Battlefield Earth Filter and it dutch angled our microphone to only record underneath the table. It affected our next two podcasts as well, but luckily they're some of the funniest ones we've ever done, so it balances out.

  1. Whenever I hear someone say "Terl" I think of Charles Barkley.

So the aliens came to Earth to mine the gold. After 1000 years they haven't found it all? It's only taken about 150 years for humans to screw up the environment, but an alien race who came to Earth for the express purpose of stripping it of resources is still working on it after 1000 years?
