Podcast: American Strays (1996)

If you enjoy Pulp Fiction, you'll love our latest review: American Strays! It's a movie that feels like a grad school writing project written the day after watching Pulp Fiction!

Like Pulp Fiction, it features an all-star ensemble cast, as Eric Roberts (DOA, The Expendables), Sam Jones (Flash Gordon), Luke Perry (90210), John Savage (The Godfather Part 3), Scott Plank (recurring on Melrose Place), Jennifer Tilly (Bride of Chucky), and Carol Kane (everything) all feature in several interconnecting extended monologues delivered by various criminals. Join us as we discuss tragic real-life shootings, wonder how bad diner service can get, and ponder if this is the worst Eric Roberts performance we've ever seen. Guest starring museum librarian and power listener Sarah Long.

  • If you told Chris that Luke Perry was a ghost in this movie, he'd believe you.
  • Imagine a world where Michael Madsen plays everyone in this movie.
  • Other possible titles: Junkyard Mutts, Trash Biography, Sewer Pups, Kitsch Encyclopedia.

  1. OMG. This podcast is hilarious. I found it because I was searching for information about this great b-movie. I venerate "American Strays". I paid 1 Euro for its DVD years ago and I think that it was the best thing I've ever made in my life ;) I'm from Spain and I've seen this movie dubbed into Spanish. So, it was a little bit difficult for me to understand you all the time because I'm still learning English. But I remember perfectly some scenes. For instance, I understood you very well when you talked about the vacuum cleaner and Jennifer Tilly (very good imitations hahaha).
It's so funny to hear people from other parts of the world laughing at the same things that I laughed when I watched it with my friends. Congratulations.

We have a poor webpage since I was 15 years old. In one section of the website, we post quotes in spanish of movies (most of them b-movies) that we have seen. One of these movies is American Strays:

Kisses from Spain!! I'll download more chapters of the podcast to improve my English :)
